The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power ~4 hour documentary by PBS / CPB

CPB / PBS documentary series based on the Daniel Yergin's Pulitzer prize-winning The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power (1990), an 800-page history of the oil industry from the 1850s through 1990. The first episode is particularly revealing as it explains the mechanics of Rockefeller's and Standard Oil's rise to power through sheer "economy of scale," and ultimate consolidation into full monopoly. In 4 parts, a little under an hour each.
